Alex Jupe Motorsport in AutoItalia Magazine
The cover of the May 2009 issue of AutoItalia magazine features Bill Smith's GTV6 3.5. The car, built and maintained by us, is detailed in an article called "Fast Trackers" along with Wayne Ellett's 75 3.5.
Bill was interviewed by the magazine at Chobham test track where the car was driven by a journalist and photographed on and off the track. "A fun day out" is how Bill described the jolly. Michael Wards photos certainly did the car justice but Bill couldn't resist taking his camera along as well "to pick up a few tips". You can see his efforts in our gallery (click photo on right). Trackfun & Goodwood Marshals' Club Track Days
As it did last year, the Goodwood Marshals' Club track day rounded off the season and, despite the rain, we were keen to get out on the circuit and put in some miles. The Trackfun day a few weeks before at the begining of November had been busy and track time wasn't in great supply. Never-the-less, both days were great fun, as usual. John Curtin manned the camera.
Practical Performance Car Magazine
PPC magazine (www.ppcmag.co.uk) recently ran two articles featuring cars prepared by Alex. October 2007 issue contained a GTV6 Buyers' Guide with some stunning studio shots (see link on right) of a newly restored, red 3.0 car. The following month Alex's own 75 featured in a test of "£2K" track cars.
AROC Black & White Garage Track Day
Alex Jupe Motorsport supported customers at this Alfa Romeo Owners Club-organised event at Donington Park on 14th October, 2007. Donington is a great drivers circuit with the swoops and climbs to and from the Old Hairpin adding to the interest. Hopefully, this day is now a permanent feature on the AROC calendar. We can't wait to go back. A write-up appears in the December edition of the AROC magazine. For more news of Alfa Romeo Owners Club events check out their web site at www.aroc-uk.com.
May Nurburgring Trip
The Nurburgring trip with the Alfa Romeo Owners Club was a great success and about 15 drivers enjoyed ideal track conditions with good weather and less traffic than usual. It's difficult to describe a weekend at the Nurburgring (a.k.a. Petrol-Head Heaven!). The atmosphere around the circuit - in the paddock, cafes, restaurants and towns - creates as much fun as the on-track activity does excitement. Nicola's photos capture this very well. Check them out for yourself via the link on the right.
If you want to be kept up-to-date with our plans for future trips to the Nurburgring and the 75Experience!, please drop Alex an e-mail at alex@alexjupemotorsport.co.uk and ask to be added to our mailing list.
2007 Nurburgring Dates
This year, our regular spring trip to the Nurburgring is being run for the benefit of the Alfa Romeo Owners Club. The trip falls on the 5th-7th May. Other trips will talke place on 23rd-25th June and 25th-27th August. Instruction and track car hire will, as usual, be available from the 75Experience!. Anyone requiring more information or wishing to book on a course should contact Alex at alex@alexjupemotorsport.co.uk or by phone on 02392 522111. 2006 Track Days
The 2006 track day season ended with the Goodwood Marshals' Club Charity Track Day at the begining of December. The wet didn't suit everyone, but there was more track time than we could shake a (gear) stick at and it was a fitting end to a busy season. Alex and some customers attended days at Goodwood (twice), Nurburgring (twice) and Donington. As usual, the Nurburgring trips were run in conjunction with the 75Experience! (www.75Experience.co.uk) whilst the AROC Black & White Garage Track Day at Donington was organised by the Alfa Romeo Owners Club (www.aroc-uk.com). Historic Racing Successes
Will Morton and Mark Oldfield both enjoyed successful historic racing campaigns during 2005. By the middle of September and following a win at Cadwell Park, Will was leading class D2 in the HSCC 70s Roadsports Saloon Championship, but was unfortunately overhauled by the end of the season to finish a creditable second. In the same series, Mark enjoyed early wins at Donington and Brands Hatch GP circuits and finished fourth in class.
More news can be found on the HSCC's web site (www.hscc.org.uk) and you can see photos of the two in action at Thruxton, courtesy of the P1 Photography website. Both drive Alfetta GTV 2000s. Look out for Will in the light blue car and Mark in the green and yellow one. (Photos...)
Nurburgring 75Experience!
Trips to the 75Experience! (www.75Experience.nl) at the Nurburgring have become a regular event and two lucky groups made the journey in 2005. As usual, Ron Simons was an excellent host and we were well looked after on and off the track. The September trip was shared with Steve Bennett of Circuit Driver magazine (www.circuitdriver.com) who was writing an article for the mag's October edition.

Alfaholics Track Day
Alex and a number of his customers attended the annual Alfaholics www.alfaholics.co.uk) track day at Castle Combe circuit on April 9th. For some, it was the first time out at this venue and the day was a great success. We're alreaady looking forward to the same event next year.
